Dr. Lawton hails from the Great White North, Ontario, Canada. In 2005, while playing varsity basketball for his alma mater, he completed a Bachelor's of Science at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. There, he gained a special interest in animal science. This led him to pursue a Master's degree at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, focusing on the nutrition and animal husbandry of endangered turtle species. Dr. Lawton then ventured across the pond to Scotland where he graduated from the University of Glasgow's School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013.
Ready for the sun, he and his wife relocated to Tucson where he joined the Pantano Animal Clinic Team in 2014. His special interests include reptilian nutrition and metabolic disorders, small animal neurology and canine rehabilitation.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Lawton has continued his love for basketball with both assistant and head coaching positions at Acadia University and Glasgow University. He currently coaches competitive student athletes with the Tucson Heat boy's basketball program. He and his wife are expecting their first child and share their home with two dogs (Blue and Loni) and two cats (Optimus Prime and Bumblebee).
