Classes offered at Pantano Animal Clinic

*NEW*  Worried Woofers!  Is your pet worried about trips to the veterinarian?  This class is designed to help your "worried woofer" feel better about coming to the veterinarian.  This class focuses on desensitizing your pet to the veterinary clinic, so that the clinic becomes a "happy" place instead of a "scary" place.  We will work with your dog on things like walking onto the scale to feeling comfortable on the table.  This is a group class, although space is limited.  Dogs of any age and size are welcome to attend.  All that is required is proof of current vaccinations.  (*If you are concerned that your dog is severely aggressive, please contact our trainer for an evaluation prior to signing up for this class.)

1 hour once weekly for 6 weeks..............................................................................$95.00

Pre-Agility Classes!  For ages 16 weeks and up!  1 hour once a week for 10 weeks.............$110.

Ever wondered how your dog would do at agility?  Or do you have a young dog you would like to have a good-solid foundation before starting agility classes?  This class is designed to introduce agility to dogs as well as their owners.  Our goal is that our dogs leave this class feeling confident about new situations, surfaces and most obstacles.  This class is a 10 week course with the first 5 weeks practicing intense obedience and agility commands, with special focus on distance control.  The last 5 weeks will be introducing obstacles very slowly and positively.  This class is low impact and therefore will not cause a problem for young healthy dogs and puppies.  If you are interested in signing up for then next agility class, please call Jackie to find out when the next classes start!

Puppy Smart Start: For ages 9 weeks-6 months, 45 minutes once a week for 9 weeks.....$90

This class is great for socializing your pup and teaching them proper manners along with obedience. You learn how to groom, trim nails, brush teeth and have others touch your puppy to show your puppy how to behave and not to be scared. You will learn how to better understand your dog and how to stop annoying behaviors without violent methods. You will teach your pup, sit, down, come, walk politely on leash, wait at the door and some tricks. We want your bond with your new puppy to be happy and strong. This class helps you and your puppy communicate better!

Train Your Puppy!  By: Arizona Veterinary Medical Association

Attention puppy owners! Training and socialization (learning how to adapt to an environment) are important parts of caring for your new puppy. Start training your pup now, before Fido makes the Tasmanian Devil look like couch potato!

Training will prevent your dog from:

- Jumping up on people

- Dragging you down the street

- Soiling inside your house

- Aggressively protecting its dish / toys

- Tearing up your house or yard

- Acting "out-of-control!"

- Becoming an embarrassment

- Being euthanized because of behavior

A well-socialized pup is:

- Much easier to train

- Less likely to bite

- Not unduly stressed by new people, places, pets or things

- Easier to groom, board and take to the veterinarian

- More predictable

- A better, more enjoyable companion

Your veterinarian wants you to have a healthy, happy relationship with your dog. Ask your veterinarian for information about proper puppy training and socialization.
