Jackie works at the clinic as a Certified Veterinary Technician and also provides clients with puppy kindergarten, basic obedience and intermediate obedience classes. Group classes are held on Saturdays or weekday evenings after clinic hours.

A Bit about Our Trainer:

I have of course, loved animals and especially dogs all my life! I have been in the veterinary field for 5+ years and have been a Certified Veterinary Technician at Pantano Animal Clinic for the past 3 years. I love my job and love meeting new people, but I truly enjoy behavior and training. I have been teaching Basic and Puppy Obedience Classes at PAC for the past year and I also consult privately with owners who have specific problem pooches at home. I have consulted on every thing from puppy housebreaking to severe aggression. Whenever possible, I attend any seminar regarding behavior and training. I am also currently working toward becoming a Certified Training and Behavior Specialist.

I believe in a positive approach to dog training and particularly favor Clicker Training. Dogs, as well as their owners, learn better and faster and have much more fun when positive reinforcement is used.

In addition to working full time as a CVT and helping owners with training, I also foster for a local rescue organization. It is very rewarding to place a great dog in a wonderful home. I also have several dogs of my own, all with their own “job.” I have a few Aussies and Border Collies- Let’s just say I am biased towards the active breeds. I also have a few Chihuahuas and a Golden Retriever mix. They are involved in everything from agility and herding to just companions!
